A native of Athens, Georgia, Wes received his B.A. He earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Georgia in 1999 and an MBA from UGA in 2004. After graduating from business school in 2004, he co-founded Landmark Properties. In 2017, Wes was named the E&Y Southeast US Entrepreneur of the Year in the real estate category.
James B. Wheatley, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer. Since 2003, James has been involved in the organization, design, development, construction and management of over $4 billion in student housing projects across the country. As Chief Operating Officer of Landmark Properties, James is responsible for all operational aspects relating to the company's real estate portfolio. James built a team of industry-leading professionals and helped lead Landmark Properties to a leading position in the student housing industry, where they are consistently the most active developer of student housing and the largest student housing contractor in the country. A native of Athens, Georgia, James graduated from the University of Georgia with a BLA in Land Management with an emphasis in Urban Design. He started his career in real estate in 1999 and co-founded Landmark Properties, Inc. in May 2004. Governor Kemp appointed James as Co-Chair of the Georgia First Commission, served as Board Chair of the Boys & Girls Club of Athens and is a member of the University of Georgia Student Affairs Advisory Council. He is an active real estate broker in GA, TN and NC, a member of the Athens Home Builders Association and the Athens Chamber of Commerce. James lives in Athens with his wife Jessica, daughter Britten and son Bronson.

CEO Jason Doornbos Jason joined Landmark Properties in 2010 and is responsible for identifying US development opportunities in the university markets. In this role, Jason is responsible for structuring acquisitions, overseeing the entitlement process, designing and engineering new developments and working with Landmark's debt and equity partners to secure adequate capital for development opportunities. Landmark is currently the largest developer of student housing in the United States. Prior to joining Landmark, Jason was the CFO of Place Properties. Prior to joining the student housing industry, Jason worked in the real estate finance industry as an investment director at Merrill Lynch Capital and began his career as a credit analyst at Regions Bank. Jason received his B.B.A. In 2000, he received a master's degree in finance from the University of Georgia. He serves on the board of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and is an elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Athens. Jason and his wife Andrea live in Athens with their three daughters.

Arthur Templin Art CEO has over 16 years of experience in real estate development, design and construction. Prior to Landmark, he held various positions at Onward Investors, Eden Prairie, MN; Oppidan Investment Company, Excelsior, MN; Target Property Development, Minneapolis, MN; and Opus Group, Irvine, California. Art studied civil engineering at Iowa State University. He and his wife Laura live in Athens, Georgia and have three children: Leah (ten), John (seven) and Evan (five).
Blair Sweeney, Managing Director, Build to Rent Blair is a veteran of the residential building industry where he has spent the majority of his career in various roles in development, property and asset management. His previous experience includes six years as Landmark's student platform developer, where he was involved in many of the company's events, including The Standard in Athens, The Retreat in Corvallis, StoneFire in Berkeley, The Standard in Charlottesville, The Retreat in Harrisonburg, The The Standard in Knoxville and The Mark in Berkeley, among others. He is also an experienced developer and former executive in the self-storage sector, both with a publicly traded REIT and an Atlanta-based entrepreneurial developer. Blair holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives in Marietta with his wife Michele and two children. In her spare time she likes to travel, support her children's extracurricular activities and follow politics.
Andrew Costas, Senior Director Andrew joined Landmark Properties in 2015 and his responsibilities include identifying suitable investment opportunities, sourcing key markets, working with land sellers, overseeing design development, managing financial underwriting, underwriting debt capital and equity partners, managing rights and closure. Prior to joining Landmark, Andrew worked at North American Properties in the acquisitions and financing group and then in the multifamily development team. During his time at North American Properties, Andrew was involved in all aspects of the investment cycle from property identification to location of retail, multifamily and mixed-use product types. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Andrew earned his B.A. in Real Estate from the University of Georgia. He lives in Athens with his wife Teresa and their children Ford and Margot.
Mark Riley, Director Mark was the investment executive for Inland America's student accommodation arm and delivered over 4400 beds ranging from timber frame projects to 20 storey mixed-use urban developments. Prior to that, Mark spent 11 years in the extended stay hotel business and developed 22 projects in Southeast markets for a subsidiary of Security Capital Group. Mark holds an MBA from Emory University and a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Wake Forest University. In his spare time, Mark enjoys running, playing golf and spending time with his wife and two sons.

Eric Leet, Principal Eric joined Landmark Properties as a Development Manager in 2018. His primary responsibilities include assisting senior developers in identifying and securing investment opportunities, managing the development process, securing financing and ensuring delivery. Prior to joining Landmark, Eric worked at Anthony Property Group in Raleigh, North Carolina in the acquisition and development of conventional multifamily and light industrial properties. Eric also has experience in the student housing sector with Corvias Campus Living. Eric attended North Carolina State University with a degree in Accounting and a B.S. in business administration. He holds an MBA from UNC's Kenan-Flagler School of Business with specializations in real estate and corporate finance. In his free time, Eric likes to spend time in nature, travel and cook.
Director Aaron Stange Aaron joined Landmark as a Development Manager in 2018 and is now a Director in our Student Group from 2021. His responsibilities include sourcing sites, taking on new opportunities, overseeing design development, securing equity and debt capital, rights management and closing. Since joining Landmark, he has successfully closed over $700 million in development opportunities nationwide. Aaron previously worked for National Real Estate Development, the pension fund development arm of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. During his time at National, he worked on their Eastern Market project, a $600 million, 4-acre mixed-use development in downtown Philadelphia. Additionally, Aaron was also involved in the development and leasing of The Block, a $500 million mixed-use development in downtown Los Angeles, California. Aaron also previously served as Director of Capital Markets at The Carlton Group in New York and as Director of a $4.2 billion mezzanine debt fund at Blackstone Group in New York. Aaron holds a BA in Business Administration from Drexel University.
Director David Phillips David joined Landmark Properties in 2019 as a developer of student housing. In 2020, David began Landmark's expansion into residential rental properties. In this role, David is responsible for the development of BTR communities across the country. Prior to Landmark, David spent 13 years with a developer and general contractor building multi-family, mixed-use, townhome and retail properties throughout the Southeast. David holds a BA in Finance from Clemson University. He lives in Atlanta with his wife Val and their dog Jeffrey. In his free time, David enjoys traveling and hiking.
Rob Turk, Development Manager Rob joined Landmark as a Development Manager in 2019. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects from inception to completion. As a development manager, he is actively involved in site selection, market analysis and financial assurance, as well as obtaining funding, assisting senior developers and managing the design and development process. Prior to Landmark, Rob was a development manager at Middleburg Real Estate Partners where he managed the initial development of Class A multifamily buildings in the Carolinas, Georgia and Tennessee.
