Private Security Jobs - So you're interested in a private security job? Then this article will come in handy and contains some dos and don'ts when it comes to the world of private contract security.

Private Security Jobs
I applied for the job he suggested (I signed an NDA, but you can read between the lines), took my mandatory training and assessment test, and was offered the job after I graduated. This eased my transition from active duty to civilian life.
Private Security Company
A SEAL Team Six guy who tested with me failed. Not because he wasn't talented enough, but because he refused to take the test they offered and, as Frank Sinatra famously sang, did it his own way. This teaches you to put your ego aside, study and take the test they give you. You work for them, not the other way around.
There are so many different security jobs out there and they are not all the same. However, there are two main categories we are talking about here: jobs abroad and jobs at home. Let's look at each one in more detail.
Most of the questions I get are from gentlemen who want to "get dirty" with overseas security jobs. Frankly, this job category can be very lucrative.
A speaker is a CIA contractor who does operational work off the wire. This type of security usually requires extensive law enforcement or military qualifications (usually a special operations background). Most of these jobs are State Department or Intelligence Agency (GRS or Ground Branch) programs. Typically, these agencies contract with security companies that are responsible for training, vetting and handling these contracts. MVM and Dyncorp are two such security companies. Often, these jobs pay more than static security jobs. Pay can start at $700 a day, but varies based on supply and demand.
And I'm A Security Guard
Static jobs pay well, but usually involve perimeter or interior security, AKA gates or building guards. This job starts at $400 a day. Sometimes, it can be a stepping stone to dynamic work if you prove yourself and supplement your training with some specific exercises.
Undoubtedly, the most dynamic jobs require a special former than the average Joe. Just the nature of the beast, but sometimes there are exceptions, but don't get your panties in a wad about this one. It is what it is.
If you're in it purely for the money, look at high-risk full-time contractor jobs in war zones. I'm talking about plumbers, electricians, etc. The base I was stationed in Iraq had electricians and plumbers making over $2,000 a day behind the fence line! There's no shortage of ex-law enforcement and military ready to apply for security gigs, but try getting Joe Brooklyn to take his crack plumber to Iraq! There are not too many takers. So if you want to break the bank, check this out. Most major defense contractors hire for this type of work.
This is more money than a professional gunsmith earns, and the great thing about being abroad is that you can work three to six months a year and have the rest of your free time to enjoy life alone or with loved ones.
Private Security Jobs Explained By Former Navy Seal And Contractor
This job can be quite lucrative, but less exciting. They are also separated into dynamic and static allocations, with dynamic offers, again, higher wages.
Mainly, it includes personal protection, i.e. bodyguards. There are some great gigs out there, but they come in the same order and are usually filled by experienced law enforcement or special ops guys.
The biggest complaint I hear about Home Security is that customers are lazy and don't change their driving routines or routes (which compromises security), and the team ends up being adult babysitters and baggage handlers.
In addition, there are many shady characters involved in homeland security. The lack of official government security clearance is a contributing factor. You'd be surprised how many Navy SEALs I've met in private security who were turned down by the SEALs, or just faked it. Sometimes customers even buy into the lies until they refuse to believe that they hired and believe the fake.

I have also seen many men who left the special ops community in disgrace (security violations, drugs, or worse) apply for such jobs and get them. So you have to be careful and usually once you get into the hiring process, guys will talk and you can end up with bad ones than good ones.
Not everything and everyone is created equal. So make sure you practice at a recognized place because "I've never heard of that" won't get you hired.
Some good ones that come to mind are Mid-South Academy or Gunsite for shooting, Bondurant or Skip Barber for driving, and any Gracie school for fighting.
